Fishers of men or ‘Fisher of Tzaddi’ – Righteous

TZADDI – DALET – QUF – KAF = RIGHTEOUSNESS

Mat 4:12  And יהושע, having heard that Yoḥanan had been put in prison, withdrew into Galil.

Mat 4:13  And leaving Natsareth, He came and dwelt in Kephar Naḥum, which is by the sea, in the borders of Zeḇulun and Naphtali,

Mat 4:14  to fill what was spoken by Yeshayahu the prophet, saying,

Mat 4:15  “Land of Zeḇulun and land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Yardĕn, Galil of the gentiles –

Mat 4:16  the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, and upon those who sat in the land and shadow of death, light arose to them.

Mat 4:17  From that time יהושע began to proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has drawn near.”

Mat 4:18  And יהושע, walking by the Sea of Galil, saw two brothers, Shimʽon called Kĕpha, and Andri his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

Mat 4:19  And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I shall make you fishers of men.”

Mat 4:20  And immediately they left their nets and followed Him.

Mat 4:21  And going on from there, He saw two other brothers, Yaʽaqoḇ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yoḥanan his brother, in the boat with Zaḇdai their father, mending their nets. And He called them,

Mat 4:22  and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

As you see in verse 17, Messiah was calling the Gentiles into Covenant with the living Torah.  He was showing them The Way to repentance (Teshuva) to turn away from their worldly ways into righteousness.  He said ‘Follow Me’ which was a command and ‘I shall make you fishers of men’.  The Righteous Branch hooks us into Him, giving us desire to live a righteous life.  And He, being the Righteous Branch, will take His seat and hook and capture us to desire to grow (sprout) and live righteous.

TZADDI is almost the same as the word for “A RIGHTEOUS MAN” – TZADDIK. TZADDI is ancient Hebrew for “Fish Hook” This shows that it is YaHuWaH’s Righteousness that hooks us. Also, since we are called to be Fishers of men, we need to remember that Righteousness is the hook – vitally important in catching fish. We can’t compromise from the RIGHTEOUS PATH that leads to SET APARTNESS and better influence people for YaHuWaH. Such compromises don’t work!

Tzaddi got its name from the shape of a “fishing hook”, which is related to the root tzod, meaning “to fish, catch, capture.” This has both positive and negative sides to it. First, YaHuWaH lovingly woos and “catches” us for Salvation. But for all who reject Him, the next fishing picture is sobering:

Jeremiah 16:16-18 “Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith YaHuWaH, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. For Mine Eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from My Face, neither is their iniquity hid from Mine Eyes… I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled My land…”

Though tzaddi is the root of the word meaning “righteous”, tzaddi itself comes from a root “tzod” meaning, “to hunt”. This shows that righteousness is something that we should seek after. Yahusha encouraged this when He said, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled,” (Matthew 5:6). Seeking worldly pleasures (even pleasures which do not break the Torah) and gain cannot be the practice or focus of the true believer (Hebrew) because, although pleasures and gain may not in themselves be evil, the pursuit of them leads to ruin and destruction and that is what is known as “Counting the Cost”!

But reverence with contentment is great gain. For we brought naught into the world, and it is impossible to take any out. When we have food and covering, we shall be satisfied with these. But those wishing to be rich fall into trial and a snare, and into many foolish and injurious lusts which plunge men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some, by longing for it, have strayed from the belief, and pierced themselves through with many pains. But you, O man of Elohim, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, reverence, belief, love, endurance, meekness. 1Tim 6:6-11

When we pursue something, or seek after it, it is our life-focus – our center Branch in our life Menorah experience. Our central focus is to be on Righteousness. Yahusha promised, “But seek ye first the Kingdom of Elohim, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you,” Matthew 6:33.

There are many rewards for having our focus on YaHuWaH and pursuing righteousness. Along with having our needs met, when we are in righteousness, we will receive YaHuWaH’s Protection. The Scriptures say that when the final Storm has swept by, the wicked will be gone, but the righteous will stand firm, forever. “The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.” Proverbs 10:24-25.

If we will seek YaHuWaH’s Kingdom and Righteousness above all else, we will be the righteous ones who are still standing after the storm has passed. This protection extends even beyond this life to the Day in which each person must stand before Elohim in Judgment. But, for those who foolishly choose to pursue the world instead of Righteousness, David wrote, “Therefore the wicked will not stand in the Judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous,” Psalm 1:5.

We are a husband and wife in covenant with ABBA YaHuWaH. Together we are taking the truth of Scripture to the Nations through our personal studies of the Paleo Aleph Bet and how that applies to scripture for our lives. It is our earnest prayer that you take whatever you want to from this site and study it out for yourselves. We have inherited LIES from our fathers and the translations of today are riddled with error and watered down doctrine from men each trying to sell their agenda of their denomination. It is time for the houses of Ephraim and Yahudah to wake up and unite. `•.¸ ☆ Shalom Aleichem !!!´¯`•.¸☆¸.• ´¯`•.¸☆ “GIVE EAR, O heavens, and I [Moses] will speak; and let the earth hear the words of my mouth. My message shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the light rain upon the tender grass, and as the showers upon the herb. For I will proclaim the name [and presence] of YaHuWaH. Concede and ascribe greatness to our Elohim. He is the Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are law and justice. A Elohim of faithfulness without breach or deviation, just and right is He.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭32:1-4‬ Abba YaHuWaH is calling His people from the four corners of the earth to return to Him.
